Hicksville High School will present Anastasia February 27th and 28th at 7:00 p.m. and March 1st at 2:00 p.m. at the Huber Opera House and Civic Center. The musical tells the story of Anya (Jordys Vance), an orphaned young woman with amnesia in post-revolutionary Russia, who teams up with two con men, Dmitry (Luke Eicher) and Vlad (Colton Hancock), to impersonate the lost Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov and find her family in Paris, all while being pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer (Alex Harris). It is a wonderful journey of discovering identity, love, and finding one’s place, blending historical legend with romance and adventure, featuring songs from the beloved animated film like “Journey to the Past” and “Once Upon a December”. Directed by Elaine Gerken, this superb cast features students in grades 4-12. Jennifer Bergman serves as assistant director, and Earlee Harris will once again direct vocal music. All seating is general admission. Tickets are $15 for all ages and will only be available at the door. Doors will open one hour prior to show time.
