The Senior Saints are an energetic group of senior adults from the greater Fort Wayne area representing 25 churches. This year, the 70 singers and instrumentalists will present an entertaining and uplifting program of music entitled “In God We Trust” celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. The concert features “good old songs” enjoyed in the past plus hymns and gospel songs. Written and directed by Marsha Wright, the program is about the Senior Saints’ experiences in life relating to our nation and in learning to live by its motto, In God We Trust. The program includes songs, narration, and amusing and heart-warming personal experiences. Songs in the program include This is My Country, I Am Thankful to Be An American, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Over There. Songs of trusting God in the challenges of life include God of Our Fathers, Moment By Moment, Jesus is Lord of All, and Our Great Savior, concluding with God Bless America. Accompaniment is provided by piano, violin, woodwinds and brass instruments. Look for them to appear at the Huber on Sept. 17 at 7pm. A free will offering will be accepted.
